EXCELLENT SERVICE AWARD CEREMONY 2020
The 2020 Hulu Selangor District Council (MDHS) Excellent Service Award Ceremony (APC) took place successfully on 9 April 2021 at Setia Eco Templer's Grand Ballroom, Rawang.Â
With a batik theme, the ceremony took place in a simple yet lively atmosphere. It is completed with strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) such as social distancing and the practice of wearing nose and mouth covers in line with the Government's recommendation that all SOPs during the PKPB period be followed.Â
This year, a total of 35 MDHS officers and staff have received APC. The ceremony was graced with the inauguration by YBhg. Dr. Nor Fuad bin Abdul Hamid, Deputy Government Secretary (Development) and director of the State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN).
In addition, there were other awards also presented to the recipients that night, namely the 25 Year Loyal Service Award for 6 people in recognition of the loyalty and contribution of officers and staff who continue to be devoted to MDHS. Anugerah Jasamu Dikenang is given to 8 officers and staff who will retire either compulsory or optional. Condolences were given to the next of kin of 2 staff members who died during their service.
In conjunction with this ceremony, Palakresnan A/L Appo was crowned as the recipient of the President's Special Award which was personally presented by the MDHS President, Dr. Mohd Azhar bin Mohamed Ali.
Dr. Mohd Azhar bin Mohamed Ali said, MDHS is always committed to appreciating the sacrifices and efforts of its employees in improving productivity and service delivery.
He also said that this year's APC recipients are expected not to be complacent and proud of the recognition they have received, but instead continue to strive to be role models in their respective departments.
At the same time, YDP MDHS also expressed gratitude to the Selangor State Government through the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) who agreed to support the proposal to upgrade the Hulu Selangor District Council to the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council in the Cabinet meeting on 24 February. 2021.
The council has also received a letter of notification regarding the decision of the Council of Ministers from the Selangor State Government dated 31 March 2021. Next, the Council is in the process of obtaining policy approval for the gazetting and declaration of the Municipal upgrade under subsection 4(2) of Act 171 along with the effective date.
It is expected that the status change of Hulu Selangor District to a municipality will bring many positive effects to the residents in various segments such as infrastructure facilities since it is part of the requirement to become a municipality.
In addition to that, MDHS staff are also advised to change their thinking and improve the quality of service to a higher level comparable to the received municipal status.
